According to Habibullah, Riyad and Anwar had gone to Zareen to buy supplies for their shop. They were just returning from buying supplies when announcements were made that floods were coming and people should stay in safe places. The five people in two vehicles tried to reach their destination before the flood.

The local people said that due to the river and the road being flooded in this area, the river water often comes on the road due to heavy rains. This time it was not expected that so much flood will come.

It took an hour and a half for the rescue team to arrive

Saqib Khan, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters of Lower Kohistan, told the The Time News Today that he was informed at 10 o'clock on Thursday morning that five people were trapped in the flood, on which the rescue team was immediately prepared and ten The team had left at 10:00 PM but it would take at least an hour and a half to reach the spot.

He said that roads were closed due to rain and floods, only the Karakoram Highway was closed at 11 places. Apart from this, the bridges on the way were also destroyed. The team was still on the way when it was reported at around 11:30 that four people were washed away in the flood water. It was a sad incident but there was nothing they could do about it.
He said that the body of one person has been found but the others could not be found.

Some 75 km pass through the Karakoram High Mountains and the highway is closed due to landslides at more than 40 places and the road opening cannot be started until the conditions improve.

Saqqat Khan said that this was not a single incident as people were trapped in flood at different places and all the others have been rescued and shifted to safe places.

He said that there were reports of people trapped in flood at two places on Friday, among them 22 people were trapped in the flood at Rangolia, while 15 children were trapped at Tunguri.

He said that these 15 children have been shifted to safe places while all 22 people have been rescued at Rangoliya with the help of local people.
